Cracker Barrel Menu Prices

Whenever visiting Cracker Barrel restaurants, you must keep in mind that these are casual restaurants – this means that you might Cracker Barrel prices noticeably higher than the prices at Cook Out (fast-food restaurant) or Zaxby’s prices (fast casual restaurant). So, if you are looking for a really low-priced and affordable place, these Cracker Barrel menu prices might not suit you.

However, it is worth to compare the Cracker Barrel menu prices to the prices at other casual restaurants, such as Bob Evans prices. First of all, you can see that the steaks are priced between $12 and $15 at Cracker Barrel. On the other hand, steak at Bob Evans costs between $10 and $12 – slightly cheaper than at Cracker Barrel. A bowl of soup at Cracker Barrel costs as much as a family-size portion of soup at Bob Evans, too.

However, such meaty meals like chicken breast are priced around the same at both restaurants. Drinks and kid items have pretty similar price tags, too. So, one may easily say that Cracker Barrel is a little bit pricier than Bob Evans, but the difference isn’t that huge.

But despite that, there are not many opportunities to take advantage of Cracker Barrel menu prices. The only way to save a bit from the Cracker Barrel prices is to order daily dinner and weekend lunch specials. Otherwise, there are not many options to spend less at this chain of casual restaurants.

To sum it all up, one can surely say that Cracker Barrel restaurant is a fantastic place where you can feel the warmth and comfort of the South. You can enjoy a delicious Southern-themed dinner with your friends, play table games with them, or embody Indiana Jones and hunt for some unique items in the gift shop. But in either case, Cracker Barrel is definitely an awesome place for a visit.

Company’s History

In fact, the very first Cracker Barrel restaurant was opened by Dan Evins, Shell Oil’s sales representative, in 1969. At that time, he developed this concept of a combined restaurant and gift store to boost the sales of oil. He remembered his childhood and the traditional country culture of the South, and decided to give this idea a go. The first Cracker Barrel diner was opened in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Just one year later, Evins incorporated Cracker Barrel and the opening of new locations followed soon thereafter. Even though initially the idea was to boost oil sales, in the mid and late 1970s more and more Cracker Barrel locations opened without gasoline stations. In the early 1980s, the company gradually phased out all gasoline stations and eventually became a publicly traded company.

In 1987, Cracker Barrel had over 50 restaurants in 8 American states and kept growing consistently during the rest of the 1980s and 1990s. As of today, there are 663 Cracker Barrel restaurants in 45 American states. Currently, the company is owned Maple Street Biscuit Company (since 2019) and remains headquartered in Lebanon, Tennessee.
